Sri Lanka

“Sri Lanka, a land like no other”, this is the touristic slogan of this beautiful island. And it’s so true! Its nature is really unique and I will never forget how I woke up the first morning to the overwhelming view of endless green tea plantations covering the mountain like a green velours carpet. We spent only two days in Sri Lanka on our way back from Maldives, mainly in Nuwara Eliya and Kandy (only last night in Colombo), visiting tea factories, enjoying the landscape, discovering elephants and taking endless photos of tuk tuks in all colors! Have a look!

You can just spend time on the terrace..

..or go on a morning horse ride!

We stayed the first day in Nuwara Eliya, visiting this “Mini Tea Factory” , …

…and this “real” tea factory where we bought plenty of tea bags!

We enjoyed the landscape a lot, here ladies plucking tea leaves,

…and the delicious milk shakes at a cute little strawberry farm,

…and I really loved the colorful tuk tuks you can find everywhere!

The next day we headed to the beautiful area of Kandy and visited this gem stone factory,

… the Buddhist Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a UNESCO World Heritage site (here),

…where most ladies and little girls were carrying flowers as offerings.

We also stopped at a forest of spices that make you thinner, taller, nicer.. for much money!

And then, my nicest memory: The cuuute little baby elephants at this elephant orphanage!!

Finally, we arrived late to Colombo. Here again an amazing view… Truly a land like no other!
